As I have spent the last 2 ½ years (the time at which I became awake) trying to awake my friends and associates as to what is going on in America, I find that I have made very little progress.  Spending over two years devoted to something and seeing very little progress is disheartening to say the least, but there comes a point where one just gives up as seeing ones efforts as an exercise in futility.  For those of you who know me, you know I don’t give up that easily.  An exercise in futility or not, I will continue to hound you to wake up albeit the frequency of my requests will be diminished because frankly I have a business to run and grow and can only devote limited time to political endeavors.

The title of this piece is “One Day You’ll Wake Up and It’s Gone.”  I want to hammer this point home to you today.  From a personal perspective, I know the meaning of those words in my professional life.  Many of you have been fortunate enough to avoid the impact of this recession; I wasn’t that fortunate, but I wouldn’t trade that misfortunate for anything.  In the time that I was laid off from my job, as most of you know, I have taken great financial losses, but I’m still making it.  I may have gone through my personal and retirement savings, but I still own my home (even if it’s worth less than half what I paid for it).  I’ve started a business which is finally making enough money per month to support my expenditures, and I am happier than I have been for a very long time.

I learned a lot about myself when I was laid off, and I learned not to take anything for granted.  More important than anything else, I reacquainted myself with God, and for the first time in my life, I finally believe in God and feel a personal relationship with Christ.  This is no small thing for a former agnostic, and I am grateful everyday for having achieved this relationship with Christ.  What I wish to share with you today is that one day you will wake up and find that everything is gone.  I’m here to try to encourage you to wake up before that happens.

While slumbering myself, during the George Bush administration, the Patriot Act was passed.  Do any of you know what is in the Patriot Act?  Do any of you know that your 4^th amendment rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution have been reduced due to the Patriot Act?  The Patriot Act allows for warrantless wiretaps.  The 4^th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that you have the following rights:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. 

When your private telephone conversations can be tapped without a warrant said Act allowing it, and the act itself being committed is in direct violation of the 4^th Amendment.  So you say you don’t care, you are willing to give up a little portion of your rights and freedoms to stop terrorists because that was the argument made by politicians (specifically Republican politicians at the time the Act was debated and passed).  No one bothered to adhere to the maxim by our Founder Benjamin Franklin who stated:

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Maybe you are willing to give up essential liberty to purchase your temporary safety, but I am not for history shows us that freedoms given up are not easily returned and eventually all freedom is lost resulting in tyranny.

When President Bush and Congress (where the Democrats were the majority in both houses) in 2008 bailed out the financial industry through the TARP program against the will of the American people, I really woke up.  For those of you who argue that this was necessary to keep America from collapsing financially, I can simply state that we will never know because we were never allowed to see what would result.  The TARP program has done nothing to fix the toxic assets held by the banks.  They still hold these toxic assets to this day.  The Federal government simply propped up the banks, but they did not solve the problem, and there were and are banks that lent responsibly and do not have a problem with toxic assets.  The TARP program has merely prolonged the inevitable.  The collapse will eventually occur if it was ever going to occur in the first place.  The only thing the TARP program did was bailout irresponsible banks while burdening responsible banks.  Whenever the government picks winners and losers, we all lose.

And picking winners and losers didn’t stop there.  The government initially under the Bush administration and then later under the Obama administration bailed out both General Motors and Chrysler.  Those of you who cried, we must bail out GM and Chrysler because their American car companies that we can’t allow to go bankrupt, I ask you, how did that work out?  After pouring several billions of dollars into each of these companies they both went bankrupt.  Even worse, instead of going through a traditional bankruptcy procedure following the long established bankruptcy rules, the Federal government once again stepped in, picking winners and losers and placing union interests above share holders in direct violation of existing bankruptcy laws.  Chrysler was sold to Fiat as part of its bankruptcy proceedings and in violation of law over 700 Chrysler dealerships were closed.  Does this sound like successful intervention by the Federal government?  Of course, it doesn’t, but we weren’t allowed to see how things would shake out if GM and Chrysler just followed the normal process of filing for bankruptcy and reorganizing their companies under the existing bankruptcy long established procedures and laws.  We weren’t allowed to see that happen because of the unions. 

For those of you who haven’t woken up yet, there’s more.  As if bailing out the banks and car companies wasn’t enough, the Obama administration decided it was now time to take control of your health care.  In direct contradiction to the will of the vast majority of Americans, the Congress rammed through a nearly 3,000 page health care overall in which to this day we are still finding all of the little Easter eggs planted in this Un-Constitutional legislation.  Businesses are already warning that they will drop their health care plans and just pay the government fines (taxes) because it will be more cost effective for them.  That means that eventually this legislation will lead to a single-payer system.  For those of you not keeping up, that means socialized medicine (government run health care).  Enjoy!

But that wasn’t enough control for the Democrats.  No my friends, they want more.  They are now about to finalize and pass financial reform another 2,000 + page bill, a legislative effort led by Senator Dodd (Countrywide scandal) and Barney Frank (who said Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are fiscally sound right before they required a 65 billion dollar bailout).  Speaking of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the leading causes of the financial crisis along with AIG, nothing in the financial reform legislation says anything about reforming Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  In fact, what many believe largely led to the financial crisis was the ending of the Glass Steagall Act provisions of the post 1929 stock market crash.  Instead of completely rewriting financial reform that has nothing to do with reforming what caused the financial crisis, the Congress simply could have reinstated the Glass Steagall Act, but that would make far too much sense, and would be too simple for such an intellectually elevated Congress to ponder.

For those of you still asleep, your peaceful slumber is nearing an end.  There is not much time left before you will be forced to awaken.  You are about to awake from your dreams to the present day reality which is a nightmare.  You are about to find that the day you wake up, it is too late, for it is already gone.

I know that many of you, who are members of my family or are very dear and close friends as well as just those of you who are mere acquaintances, are apolitical.  I know that many of you don’t share my oft obsession with politics.  I implore all of you, however, to please indulge me just this one time and read my plea to you in its entirety.  When you finish this plea, you are free to dismiss my arguments and point of view, but please give them fair consideration.

I wish to speak to you about the critical point we are at in our nation’s history, what it means to you and your family, and what may potentially result between now and the November national election.  This is a time in our country where it is imperative that all Americans are politically aware, not because you want to be, not because you have to be, but because you have a duty to preserve your own self interest and more importantly a duty to preserve the future prosperity for yourselves and your family and our nation as a whole.

We cannot begin to broach this subject without looking at a little bit of history, but I promise to keep this portion concise so that you can get through it quickly and move to the portions of this plea that you are involved in whether you are aware or not and whether you are an active participant or not.  The history that I wish to share with you can be referred to as the two ends of the political spectrum.  I will share this history with you and then show you how politicians, the media, interest groups, etal pit us against each other in order to achieve their goals.  I will explain the perilous road we are on which culminates on November 2, 2010.  Finally, I will wrap up with my plea to you which in essence is simply for you to understand what is going on, so that you can make sound choices for you and your family so that you can literally survive the political turmoil that is before us.  So now to the history, bear with me it will be quick.

The Two Sides of the Political Spectrum

For almost a century, we have been taught politically that there is a left and a right, liberals on one side of the spectrum and conservatives on the other, Democrats on one side and Republicans on the other, Marxism to the left and Fascism to the right.  Defining the political spectrum in this manner is a fallacy; it is merely a means to pit people and groups of people against one another. 

The truth of the political spectrum is that the accurate definition of left and right is on one side there is total government and on the opposite side is anarchy.  Think about that for a moment, let it soak in.  It isn’t Democrats on the left, Republicans on the right and Independents in the middle.  It is total government on the left (Kings, Despots, Dictators, Potentates, Marxists, Fascists) and complete and utter anarchy on the right (a chaotic society, completely ungoverned with no rule of law).  Both the anarchists of the right and the transformationalists of the left are in jeopardy of being taken over by revolutionaries that desire to take us all to total government within a short period of time.

When we declared our independence as a nation and were governed under the Articles of Confederation, our country was too close to the extreme right.  The Articles of Confederation were ineffectual because they did not give the government enough power to provide for our national security and our national prosperity.  The Founders fairly quickly remedied this problem by bringing us the U.S. Constitution and our Representative Republic (note they did not give us a democracy, but we don’t have time to discuss that here).  They moved us slightly to the left on the political spectrum, but not that far left.  In fact under our U.S. Constitution drafted in 1787, ratified in 1788 and placed into operation in 1789, we were still far to the right of the middle of the political spectrum.  Most Americans regardless of party affiliation have a fundamental ideology that would continue to place us on the spectrum closer to where the Founders did than to the many paces to the left of this spectrum where our government has moved us.  And this is the crux of what we must all understand.  We have a common bond in this, and we must not allow the false premise to prevail that we are divided.  Rather, we must rally around our true political ideology which unites us.

Pitting Us Against One Another

If you read nothing else in this plea, I hope that you will at least read this section as it is the crux of what we must know and what we must do.  We can no longer allow the political machine, academia, the media, interest groups, the unions, the insert anything you want here to pit us against each other because that only promotes the false choices they constantly place before us.  We are all Americans, and we all have an interest in preserving our country and our way of life.  We can’t accomplish that goal if we are constantly and consistently being divided.  We must unite in what we share in common: our dreams, our lives, our futures, our goals and ambitions, our humanity, and our history.  Please remember this while you read the next portion of this plea on what is before us between now and November.

The Danger Before Us

We have a dangerous problem brewing in this country and it is a problem of both political parties.  The Democratic Party has been heavily influenced by an extreme left fringe that is ready for revolution.  The Democratic Party is no longer the party of John F. Kennedy.  It is no longer the party of your Grandparents.  It is important that all of my Democratic friends understand this because while you may be well intentioned and in support of the Democratic principles once held by your party, it’s been co-opted and it no longer stands for you.  The Republicans are no better.   The Republicans are no longer the party that was once promised us either.  They are no longer the party of a Constitutional Republic.  The Republican Party in its leadership stands for nothing because most of the Republicans in power fear their loss of power and cater to interest groups and a larger government that fails to represent the bulk of their constituents.  The fringe element of the Republican Party isn’t the religious right, it is the irreligious progressives in the party that would just as soon have larger government for their own political power as would those progressive left representatives within the Democratic Party.

The danger before us is the struggle within the Democratic Party and the impotence and lack of desire by the Republican Party to do anything about this struggle.  The far left ideologues in this nation are ready for revolution, and they will drag the Democratic Party including the more moderate in the party to this revolution.  The Republicans currently in power will prostrate themselves and willingly resign themselves to inaction.  The revolutionaries know that they have very little time left to get this accomplished.  If they lose their majorities in the November election, their plans may be thwarted for another century, so for them, time is of the essence.  You must watch the events around the world and especially here at home through this lens.  Abandon your old notions of left and right and understand there are factions in this country and abroad that will push total government or complete anarchy.  You say it can’t happen.  It’s already happening in Greece and is spreading.  You say it can’t happen in this country.  It’s already happening in this country.  Look closely at the staged demonstrations that occur in this country and look at the union and interest group backing that is behind them.  Look at the hate that is spewed at these staged events.  Watch closely as they divvy us into groups pushing us time and again against one another.  Remember these are all attempts to divide us relentlessly attempting to prevent us from uniting.

What You Must Do Between Now and November

My request to you is simple.  Be aware.  Share what I have written here with anyone who is close to you, anyone who means anything to you.  We must re-unite.  We must restore ourselves and our nation.  We must understand and watch for signs of those pushing total government and those pushing anarchy, and we must reject both emphatically.  We must proactively participate in understanding what is before us and unite together.  You see, you don’t really have a choice not to participate because whether you like it or not when revolutionary forces are at hand, they will force your participation. 

This is my final plea to you.  Please understand what is happening.  Please understand that the time between now and November will be extremely turbulent.  Tensions will escalate throughout this time period.  Know who you are, know what you believe, know what is important to you, know who is important to you and UNITE with your fellow Americans.  We must unite, or before November arrives, you’ll stop saying it can never happen here, and you’ll be in the untenable position of admitting, I can’t believe it happened here.  Go forth, spread the word, and unite.

Our Founders believed our rights were given to us by our Creator (Declaration of Independence) and those rights would be preserved by our U.S. Constitution.   As Thomas Jefferson said, “Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have…”  On the other side of the political spectrum, the absence of government (anarchy) has no facility to preserve your rights.  These are the ideals that unite us.  Remember our Founding as you resist the false premises and false choices being placed before you.

Governor Ed Rendell appears on the Greta Van Susteren show and tells Greta that he had conversations with the White House and then spoke with Representative Sestak (supposedly with no jobs being offered) encouraging Sestak to not pursue a Senate primary against Senator Arlen Specter.  Greta pushes Governor Rendell regarding why he didn’t mention this just last week when Greta was interviewing him about the Sestak controversy.  Governor Rendell replies that he didn’t think it was relevant because he didn’t speak to Sestak about a job, and on Greta’s show the week before, they were talking about a job being offered.  The real story here is not that Governor Rendell withheld information; the real story is that Governor Rendell is now covering for the White House and has become a willing participant in this scandal.

For weeks, Governor Rendell (an absolute shill for the Obama administration) has been promoting several memes regarding the Sestak controversy:

This is Not a Crime Meme; It’s done in Washington All of the Time:  Governor Rendell has compared an offer he made to someone to come back and see him if he dropped out of a Democratic primary race stating there may be a public service opportunity for him.  The fallacy in Governor Rendell’s first meme is that Governor Rendell didn’t offer a position, while a position was offered to Sestak by the Obama administration.  The second problem with meme #1 for Rendell is that Rendell was bound by State law while the Obama administration is bound by Federal law.  Throughout this “it’s done all the time meme,” Governor Rendell has never provided a single example of when this has happened before in Washington.

A Republican Attorney General has Said this Isn’t a Crime:  Governor Rendell’s second meme is to claim that Attorney General Mukasey (AG in the Bush administration) has stated that this is not a crime.  Former Attorney General Mukasey never made this claim.  There are several Federal statutes that the Sestak controversy fall under.  AG General Mukasey said that it would be a stretch to apply Federal Statute 595 in this matter which is much different than AG Mukasey stating that there is no crime.  Mukasey also stated in detail that all of the facts are not known.  Governor Rendell conveniently leaves out this point.  View this video to see what Former AG Michael Mukasey had to say on the entire matter.

Pennsylvanians Don’t Care About this Issue:  The third meme Governor Rendell has been pushing is that Americans and in particular Pennsylvania residents don’t care about this issue.  They are much more concerned with the real problems facing the nation right now.  Although Governor Rendell is correct that we are worried about many issues facing the nation, he is wrong if he thinks Americans are not concerned with corruption at the highest levels of government.

Last night, however, Governor Rendell went beyond his false planks of propping up the Obama administration in the Sestak matter to aiding and abetting the Obama administration in its cover up of the Sestak quid pro quo.  How convenient for Governor Rendell to have multiple conversations with the Obama administration (one Rahm Emanuel) and Representative Joe Sestak.  Governor Rendell’s exact words with Greta Van Susteren:

…my discussions were with Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, and we both agreed it was very, very important to try to persuade Joe to stay in the Congress and run for his House seat because we thought his House seat, if he ran for it, would be a slam dunk; he would win re-election easily.  Without him, we could lose it, so I tried on my own to convince Joe to stay in the House and wait his turn for the Senate.  Uh, but it had no, the discussion had nothing to do with jobs at all…this was in the previous year; it was in ‘09.

After this statement, Governor Rendell goes on to promote the three memes I outlined earlier.

The critical portion of this statement by Governor Rendell is that it now provides cover to the memo issued by White House counsel (Robert F. Bauer) which, in part, states:

Uncompensated Advisory Board Options.  We found that, as the Congressman has publicly and accurately stated, options for Executive Branch service were raised with him.  Efforts were made in June and July of 2009 to determine whether Congressman Sestak would be interested in service on a Presidential or other Senior Executive Branch Advisory Board, which would avoid a divisive Senate primary, allow him to retain his seat in the House, and provide him with an opportunity for additional service to the public in a high-level advisory capacity for which he was highly qualified.  The advisory positions discussed with Congressman Sestak, while important to the work of the Administration, would have been uncompensated.

When Governor Rendell specifically points out that these conversations occurred in ’09, and when he states that he had discussions with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, and Rendell states he subsequently spoke with Sestak encouraging him to “wait his turn for the Senate,” Rendell is providing the cover the White House needs to support their memo that states that “[e]fforts were made in June and July of 2009 to determine whether Congressman Sestak would be interested in service on a Presidential or … Executive Branch Advisory Board.  The memo ends with the position “would have been uncompensated.”  Governor Ed Rendell ends his statement with Greta by saying the discussion had nothing to do with jobs.  The cover for the White House by Governor Rendell is now complete.

One of the first criticisms that surfaced after the White House Memo was released was that at a news conference on the same evening of the memo’s release, Representative Sestak stated he had one brief (10 minute) conversation with President Clinton regarding the unpaid advisory position.  This directly conflicted with the memo that stated “efforts were made in June and July.”  With Governor Rendell’s claim, the cover-up continues.  The White House can add Governor Rendell to their list of “efforts” supposedly leaving Governor Rendell unexposed to any wrong doing because this was an unpaid position.

Governor Rendell may, however, find himself in real trouble here as Federal Statute 18 U.S.C. 595 also applies to State officials and states in part:

Whoever, being [a public official] … uses his official authority for the purpose of interfering with, or affecting, the nomination or the election of any candidate for Senate … [is guilty of a misdemeanor].

Looks like Governor Rendell may have a problem.  Did he use his official authority when he interfered in this Senate race?  Did he speak to Representative Sestak in his Governor’s office?  Looks like Governor Rendell has some further explaining to do.

I ask that you watch next week how this plays out.  Watch them use Governor Rendell’s statement to support that he was part of the June and July efforts by the White House regarding Sestak thereby substantiating the memo.  Watch Governor Rendell slither out of any wrong doing and continuing meme #1 claiming this sort of thing happens all of the time and continuing to claim no violation occurred because no job was offered. 

People complain that the Obama administration isn’t providing the transparency they promised.  This is absolutely false.  The Obama administration and the corrupt games that they play are completely transparent as is the corruption throughout both political parties.  You just have to know where to look and follow the right shills as they continue to cover-up the crimes being perpetrated by this administration and others in government.

While watching the Fox News channel’s weekend show Journal Editorial Report where James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal is a frequent guest (as well as a frequent guest on many other Fox News shows), I wonder why we give propagandist James Taranto any quarter anywhere in journalism.  I’m speaking in particular of James Taranto’s propaganda piece from July of 2009 entitled It’s Certifiable.  At the time, Leo Donofrio (who brought one of the suits regarding Barack Obama’s eligibility to hold the Office of the Presidency) unequivocally outed Taranto for being a propagandist in the piece.  Since that time, Donofrio has taken down his blog posts as he pursues his legal career defending Chrysler dealerships and the Bankruptcy proceedings that closed over 700 Chrysler dealerships.  I thought, however, it might be a good time to revisit Taranto’s propaganda and place back into the blogosphere the distorted facts and lies that Taranto spun on July 30, 2009 just so that we can all be clear that Taranto has no credibility.

Like all good propagandists and spin misters in the media today, James Taranto can count himself among them.  In July of 2009, Taranto’s piece It’s Certifiable was a piece debunking “Birthers” claiming in part that articles written in support of “Birthers’” claims were misinformed.  Then Taranto did exactly what he was writing against by completely misinforming his readership.  First Taranto cites the law:

Birth Abroad to One Citizen and One Alien Parent in Wedlock: A child born abroad to one U.S. citizen parent and one alien parent acquires U.S. citizenship at birth under Section 301(g) INA provided the citizen parent was physically present in the U.S. for the time period required by the law applicable at the time of the child’s birth. (For birth on or after November 14, 1986, a period of five years physical presence, two after the age of fourteen is required. For birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a period of ten years, five after the age of fourteen are required for physical presence in the U.S. to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child. (emphasis mine)

Then, as Leo Donofrio coined, Taranto writes the following offending passage:

Obama was born before 1986 to married parents, and his father was an alien. Thus if it were an overseas birth, his mother would have to have lived in the U.S. for 5 years after age 14 in order for her child to be a natural-born American. Mrs. Obama was only 18 when Barack was born, so she had not even lived 5 years after age 14.

This is something of a technicality: Someone born overseas and after 1986, but otherwise in identical circumstances to Obama, would be a natural-born citizen thanks to a law signed by President Reagan.  (emphasis mine)

In the first passage, we see where the law is quoted that the law talks about U.S. citizenship; however, in the passages where Taranto is writing, he leaps to the term natural-born citizen.  Nowhere in the law is the term natural-born citizen used.  One of the reasons that Taranto never attempts to explain this discrepancy is that he wants to make sure his readership never gets an inkling of the truth.   Those who write the laws have no authority to write natural born citizen law.  Being a natural born citizen is a condition at birth that cannot be legislated because it simply follows natural law that is immutable and more importantly not subject to legislation.  Taranto wants to make sure that you don’t ponder this fact. 

Further there is no reasonable excuse for Taranto to substitute the words U.S. citizenship with natural-born citizen.  Taranto uses the substituted words because his overall piece is to degrade and debunk the “Birthers.”  The definition of propaganda in its essence (according to dictionary.com) is to disseminate:

information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.

Taranto’s entire piece (a multi-part piece) was deliberately attempting to harm the “Birther” movement.  Regardless of the legitimacy of the “Birther” movement and/or their positions, to outright lie in a piece trying to debunk them in an attempt to add to the propaganda against them is just wrong, and James Taranto was a willing participant in this action.

I think one of the comments on Mr. Taranto’s piece sums up best exactly what Taranto is doing here and exactly the position of those who still revere our U.S. Constitution as our primary protection against future tyrannical rule.  The commenter (Shawn Quin) wrote:

A Natural born citizen is one created by the NATURAL FACTS AT BIRTH, and NO LAW is required, and NO LAW CAN make one a “NATURAL” anything….laws create legal fictions….and any law that tries to usurp the Constitution is VOID because it takes a Constitutional Amendment to do that, and neither you , I or the rest of America has voted for such an Amendment

so Mr. Taranto, hope you sold more interest by smacking the bees nest …and fortunately for our country you have been severely stung for you gross misrepresentations.

Hope selling your ethical integrity was worth the price……..

You see the supposed enlightened elitists like Mr. Taranto would have you think that if they tell you something it must be so.  When Mr. Taranto quotes the law that only speaks of U.S. citizenship and then writes would be a “natural-born citizen” what kind of fool follows someone like Taranto down the proverbial rabbit hole?  It is amazing to me that the propagandists are so blatant with their lies, and yet their lies still prevail.  James Taranto would have held a high position in President Woodrow Wilson’s progressive administration as Taranto is a progressive.  For those of us trying to restore Constitutional government, Taranto has no quarter with us.  Any credibility he once had was completely dismissed when he wrote It’s Certifiable.
